Air Duct Cleaning and Why It’s Important.jpg
8 Reasons Why You Should Consider HVAC Duct Cleaning for Your Home.jpg

Q: How often should I have my HVAC ducts cleaned?

A: The National Air Duct Cleaners Association recommends cleaning your HVAC ducts every 3 to 5 years, or more often if you have pets, allergies and or respiratory/breathing issues. We recommend cleaning your Hvac ducts right after any construction projects/renovations.

Q: How long does a HVAC duct cleaning service typically take?

A: The duration of the service varies depending on the size of your home, accessibiltiy to the ducts/furnace and the number of ducts tthat need to be cleaned. Typically, Hvac Duct Cleaning for a 1,500 to 2,000 square foot home takes around 4 to 7 hours maybe longer. We do not rush our cleanings!

.

Q: What are some signs that I need my ducts cleaned?

A: Signs that your ducts may need cleaning include excessive visible dust or debris around the vents, mold on the registers, a musty or stale odor, uneven airflow/reduced air pressure, increase in respiratory issues.

Q: Will cleaning my HVAC ducts improve the air quality in my home?

A: Yes, cleaning your HVAC ducts can improve the air quality in your home by removing contaminants such as dust, pet dander, construction debris, rodent droppings, sheet rock dust, rodent urine, hair etc

Q: Can I clean my ducts myself?

A: Tt is generally recommended that you hire a professional HVAC duct cleaning service. Professional cleaners have specialized equipment and expertise to thoroughly clean your ducts without causing damage to the system. Sticking a rotary brush with a shop vacuum does not cut it. We hook a negative air machine to your hvac duct work and put the HVAC system under negative air. As we disturb, whip and clean the ducts the negative air machine sucks the debris from the system, not just move the dust around.

Q: How much does it cost to have my HVAC ducts cleaned?

A: The cost of a duct cleaning service varies depending on factors such as the size of your home, accessibility to the furnace/registers, the number of ducts to be cleaned, and the level of debris, dust and contamination in the system. On average, the cost for a standard cleaning ranges from $500 - $1700 =/-. There are companies that offer $300 cleanings, $99 specials, low flat rates. Those companies are not cleaning your ducts properly. Just think about it. Paying 2 trained technicians to perform the job thoroughly takes about 4-7 hours. At $25 an hour x 2 =  $350! Just the overhead for a duct cleaning job can range from $250-$400. Thats not even counting the overhead for the business. Then you have to consider profit!

Q: How often should I change my air filter?

A: It is recommended to change your air filter every 1 to 6 months. The frequency of filter swaps depend on the level of contaminates, usage and debris you have in the home. A dirty filter can restrict air flow and contribute dust particles into the HVAC system.

Q: How can I maintain clean HVAC ducts?

A: Maintain your HVAC system. Keep the HVAC registers especially the returns free from debris such as dog hair. Clean around them often. Additionally changing your air filter regularly, sealing any leaks in the ducts, and scheduling regular professional HVAC maintenance services.
